Second Announcement
International Conference "Filomat 2001" will be held on the Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Niš, Yugoslavia, from August 26 to August 30, 2001. It is devoted to 30 years of the Mathematical Department of the University of Niš.

The conference will work in the following parallel sections:

  1. Algebra, Logic, Discrete Mathematics and Computer Sciences
  2. Topology and Geometry
  3. Mathematical Analysis
  4. Probability and Statistics
  5. Approximation Theory and Numerical Mathematics
  6. Mathematical Physics

Remark: The previous section for Differential Equations has been extended and renamed to the section for Mathematical Analysis. Also, the section for Numerical Mathematics and Optimization has been renamed to Approximation Theory and Numerical Mathematics.

There will be invited 50-minute lectures. Participants are invited to present a 25-minute talk in parallel sessions. Participants from South-East European countries, especially participants from former Yugoslav republics, are encouraged to attend the conference. A Round Table "Perspectives of Mathematics in South-East Europe" will be organized (coordinators Petar Kenderov, Bulgaria, and Hermann Render, Germany).
